All About Ms. Vega

Ms. Vega is originally from Los Angeles, CA but has been living in New York City for more than two decades. She is a graduate of Pepperdine University where she earned her B.S. in Business Administration. She has two masters degrees: one in Economics and the other in Mathematics Education. She worked on Wall Street for many years until she decided to pursue a more personally fulfilling career in education. 

 

Ms. Vega was a math teacher and assistant principal at The Young Women's Leadership School in East Harlem for many years, and then became a building principal at a performing arts high school in Long Island. She missed working with New York City students and returned to NYC Public Schools in 2026 to join Park East High School.  

 

Ms. Vega loves to travel and has visited 11 countries so far: Nicaragua, Mexico, Costa Rica, Canada, France, Germany, Sweden, Iceland, China, Czechia and Austria.
