Brady
Brady has taught mathematics in East Harlem for over 20 years, all at Park East High School. She teaches 12th grade Statistics; her class has hosted visits from the U.S. Census Bureau's Associate Director and the Chief of Racial Statistics branch. She also developed and runs a small-group instruction model resulting in 100% passing the Algebra I Regents. The model was profiled in The NY Times and Chalkbeat, plus funded to scale at additional schools.
Brady is head of the math department, facilitates the professional learning committee, mentors new teachers and designs the school master schedule. She is also a member of the programming and equity teams. Brady is a Master Teacher through NYC Teacher Career Pathways, four-time MƒA Master Teacher and NYS Master Teacher. She was recipient of the Sloan Award for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics and The MƒA Muller Award for Professional Influence in Education.
Outside of school, Brady enjoys poetry. She was a member of the Nuyorican Poets Cafe National Slam Team and her work appeared in an international film festival, Off-Broadway play, and motion picture.
